Primary Responsibility :
Responsible for managing all activities relating to Payroll Tax, Audit, and Accounting of Payroll accounts. This includes the creation of policy and procedures, managing internal and external payroll and tax audits, 3rd party vendor oversight, system updates, project management, while complying with all Federal, State, and Local tax regulations.

What You’ll Do :

• Manage, Balance and Approve all transactions relating to preparation of periodic, quarter, and annual tax filings and amendments relating to Payroll. Manage all payroll related tax jurisdictions, set up, and system mapping to ensure proper tax reporting to all Federal, State, and Local agencies.
• Validate all W2 Reporting; process corrections as necessary.
• Manage the timely resolution of all payroll tax agency issues.
• Manage and validate all tax set up information in Peoplesoft and ensure the proper validation queries and procedures are in place to ensure company compliance with payroll tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct any research of any new payroll tax legislation and court decisions to determine the effect on the Company and manage implementation as necessary.
• Manage the receipt and implementation of all payroll and tax interface System Updates for PeopleSoft and 3rd party payroll provider. Conduct all periodic testing and validation for updates to PeopleSoft relating to Payroll and Tax.
• Manage the validation and completion of all testing and validation of company approved SOX controls relating to payroll and tax for internal and external audit units.
• Manage process and validate all components for annual payroll Workers Compensation audit with 3rd party insurance provider.
• Manage the resolution of all questions relating to payroll general ledger accounts and work with Financial Accounting for timely resolution of outstanding issues. Ensure Corporate Payroll compliance regarding the Company’s fiscal and period closings.
• Manage company sponsored pay card program with 3rd party administrator and ensure compliance with all Federal and State pay card laws and regulations. Administer all access and conduct training programs associated with program.
• Manage the validation and completion of payroll related interfaces including Company Performance Incentive Program and Concur program reimbursements through payroll. Manage the recording of taxable benefit programs such as gift cards and company sponsored award programs, recording of Non-Qualified and Restricted Stock Options, Relocation, SERP Earnings, and Severance Payments.
• Approve and validate all requests for payment of monthly payment of union dues and work with Payroll Team to ensure timely reconciliation and payments.
• Approve and validate all invoices for 3rd party payroll providers.
• Support team projects, department improvement initiatives, and deliverables, as requested.

What Experience and Education You Need :

• Minimum 3-5 years payroll tax experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business and/or equivalent combination of education, training and relative experience
• Requires a demonstrated in-depth understanding and working knowledge of payroll processing within a large company environment.
• Requires a demonstrated in-depth understanding of payroll tax laws including multi-company, multi-state, and local jurisdiction, to include reciprocity, and other payroll state guidelines. Acquisition related tax experience preferred.
• In-depth functional PeopleSoft/Oracle and ADP Tax filing experience required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel programs.

• Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions

• May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business
• May require a visit facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing
• May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds
• Requires the use of various electronic tools
• Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from
executive management
