Successfully support Director of Financial Reporting, Controller, CAO, and CFO in all internal and external reporting requirements, setting expectations, challenging and developing team, analyzing and explaining results, maintaining a well controlled environment and reporting financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and all other requirements. This position serves as a technical accounting resource regarding accounting pronouncements and issues affecting the company.
What You’ll Do :
• Responsible for overall aspects of internal and external reporting of a $1.5 billion global organization
• Ownership of the preparation, accuracy, completeness and timeliness of external financial statements, disclosures, reporting policies, procedures and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with all GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting requirements, as well as federal, state, local, and country specific reporting requirements
• Establish and maintain relationships with international reporting units and joint ventures
• Create, maintain and own a global consolidation process
• Conduct thorough reviews of individual international reporting units’ results and reporting packages
• Analyze and research financial information pertaining to the international financial statements and provide executive level presentation of results
• Monitor, evaluate and influence progress toward departmental goals
• Research and draft technical memoranda to present a strategy on proposed or new accounting and SEC regulations that may impact the company
• Interact closely with the external auditors and internal and external legal counsel
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and retain staff and ensure compliance with employment laws
• Strategically partner with other departments, reporting units and countries to meet company objectives
• Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned
What Experience and Education You Need :
• Bachelor degree in Accounting required, CPA required
• 5+ years of related accounting experience and managing teams and departmental goals
• Big 4 or Tier 2 public accounting with public company auditing required
• Experience within a global organization with multiple reporting units required
• Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations is required
• REIT experience a plus
• Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and accounting software systems and forecasting/budgeting tools (SAP and BW experience preferred)

Physical Requirements :
• Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
• Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
• Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
• Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
• May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business
• May require a visit facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing
• May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds
• Requires the use of various electronic tools
• Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
