What You'll Do
You will manage case management activities for assigned sites, ensuring associates receive appropriate healthcare and supporting cost control measures. You will oversee workers compensation processes, facilitate transitional duty assignments, participate in emergency response efforts, and organize first aid training. The role requires daily interaction with adjusters, reporting regional statistics, supporting site management in budget preparation, and up to 30% travel within the assigned region.
Essential Functions
- Execute case management for assigned sites and assist management staff in case management activities.
- Oversee workers compensation processes including documentation management and communication with treating doctors.
- Facilitate transitional duty assignments and negotiate appropriate work restrictions for associates.
- Organize and deliver first aid training, including CPR/AED/first aid response, and participate in emergency response efforts.
- Report monthly and quarterly regional statistics related to workers compensation cases and costs.
- Support site management in preparing budgets and evaluating fee schedule negotiations for medical services.
- Identify opportunities for case reductions and serve as a corporate representative for litigated cases as needed.
- Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
What Experience and Education You Need
- Current RN licensure/certification in application location.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an RN, including at least 3 years in occupational health and 2 years in direct management.
- Experience with workers' compensation and implementing OSHA and DOH/CDC programs in a healthcare or occupational health setting.
- BLS certification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project required.
What Could Set You Apart
- COAHC certification is a plus.
- Experience with development, management, and administration of regulatory compliance and safety systems across numerous locations.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and deploy programs across multiple company locations.
- Project management skills to keep projects on target.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrated experience making decisions in high-pressure situations using established protocols.
- Quality Assurance experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively identify and address issues.
Physical Requirements
- Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.
- Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work, including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
- Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others, verbally and/or in writing.
- May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
- May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
- May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
