What You'll Do

You will support the site General Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded, acting as the primary leader in their absence. You will manage and lead teams to optimize automated warehouse processes, address customer issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role also includes coordinating with various internal teams to maintain and enhance warehouse automation and supporting operational projects, with up to 12% travel required.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee site operations and ensure performance results are achieved, acting as the site leader when the General Manager is unavailable.
  • Manage and lead Control Room teams to optimize automated warehouse processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Address and resolve external customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to maintain and enhance automation systems and support operational projects, including installations, upgrades, and launches.
  • Lead operational testing and readiness activities for automation designs and support mapping of functional flows for new automation zones.
  • Ensure accurate integration of automation systems with warehouse management systems and support gap analysis and process improvements.
  • Lead, advise, and train associates and direct reports as assigned.
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

What Experience and Education You Need

  • Minimum 5 years of experience required leading large, complex conventional warehouses or high-speed manufacturing or continuous process manufacturing operations.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in MS Office Professional applications, AS400, Red Prairie/JDA WMS, LMS.
  • Proficient with WMS/WFM systems and ability to troubleshoot and optimize automation development and implementation.
  • Experience managing and leading teams in warehouse operations, including addressing open issues and optimizing automated warehouse processes.

What Could Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with start-up or turnaround projects, including WMS conversions, launches, automation go-lives, or labor management implementation.
  • Experience leading in an automated warehouse or production facility.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies or equivalent experiential learning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to motivate and direct teams to achieve objectives.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work, including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.
  • Requires ability to comprehend and communicate with others verbally and/or in writing.
  • May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
  • May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
  • May require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
