What You'll Do

You will oversee the maintenance and functionality of refrigerated warehouse facilities by directing installation, repair, and utility system operations. You will lead facility services managers in ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements while supporting capital project implementation and preventive maintenance programs. Travel may be required as necessary for business needs.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee maintenance and functionality of refrigerated warehouse facilities by directing installation, repair, and utility system operations.
  • Lead facility services managers to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation of capital projects and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Identify and assess current and future maintenance requirements through collaboration with management, engineering, production personnel, and technicians.
  • Prepare annual capital and maintenance budgets, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to achieve financial objectives.
  • Direct maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance staff by selecting, training, and assigning employees, and resolve maintenance problems through collaboration with relevant personnel.
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

What Experience and Education You Need

  • Minimum 7 years of maintenance management and leadership experience with at least 5 years scheduling and maintaining refrigerated warehouse systems, material handling repair, and building maintenance required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining NH3 refrigeration systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with OSHA and EPA compliance programs for ammonia refrigeration systems in warehouses.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and computer applications including Excel and Word.

  • Completion of all eight RETA courses.
  • HAZMAT certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance modules or similar enterprise asset management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic team environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work in spaces with 55 inches of headroom.
  • Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures varying from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to minus 45 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation).
  • Able to climb ladders or step ladders.
  • Able to tolerate heights up to 30 ft. and be able to access elevated products from inside safety cage.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment required for working at heights and in cold temperatures.
  • Able to stand and/or walk continuously or frequently over an 8-12-12 hour shift. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
  • Able to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.
  • Depending on specific role, must be able to lift boxes of varying weights up to 80 lbs. and carry product a distance of up to 6 ft. without mechanical assistance.
  • Able to meet specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to hear and speak in order to comprehend, respond to, and provide instructions and safety warnings, as well as able to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines.
